Prompting AI is not making art or writing in the same way that printing a dollar bill from your computer at home is not making money. In the same way that ordering a coffee does not make you a barista. In the same way that watching a sport is not playing it.
Plugging an input to a computer is not an act of creation. You're not engaging in the making of something. You're placing an order. You are piggybacking off the (exploited) (stolen) labor of other people, labor which you simultaneously belittle and refuse to do yourself because it's too hard.
And you're robbing yourself of the opportunity to make something real. And I think that's really sad tbh.
