something I really admire about Lost is how they gave us an absolute punching bag of a villain. So often stories want to give us villains that are so powerful and so dangerous that the heroes are constantly getting their asses handed to them, and the bad guys seem undefeatable and untouchable.
Ben isn't like that. He's constantly getting the absolute shit kicked out of him. He's still capable of so much evil and destruction and manipulation. He's still so powerful and he hurts so many people, and he's able to do it specifically because the heroes keep sparing his sorry ass. But anytime someone decides they wanna rock his shit he barely even physically fights back. Always bruised and bloodied. Most punchable face that always gets punched, and it's so goddamn satisfying every time.
